THE OWNER OF Billy Martin's Western shop on Sunset Boulevard writes to defend Winona Ryder. Doug Newton insists, "It's impossible for Winona to be guilty. Has to be a misunderstanding. She is in our store frequently with ample opportunity to shoplift. There has to be an explanation." Well, that's nice for Winona. Go in, girl, and buy a pair of expensive cowboy boots!
